[The Pokegear clatters to the ground along with the rest of the Doctor's equipment--he runs forward a few steps, appearing onscreen at an odd angle given where the camera's lying. The background is dark and rocky--Union Cave, perhaps?]
No, nonono she can't have gotten away, the worst ones always get away, not this time--
[Out of breath from all that running (human bodies were so unreliable, what with one heart and all) the suit-wearing Doctor leaned on a rocky wall with an expression that, while hard to see in the darkness, was unmistakably Not Pleased. And when the Doctor is Not Pleased, things tend to get a bit messy.]
...She won't get away. Not from me, not for long. They always come back, and I always win in the end. The Master, the Daleks, the Cybermen, I can handle all that. One human won't be any trouble once I find her.
[There was an odd air of determination to the Doctor as he straightened up, dusted off his suit (which, incidentally, was covered in dust, dirt, and grass stains; he's not had an easy few days) and strode right over to his Pokegear to pick it up. He was smiling by this point--the smile of a man who enjoyed a challenge and was going to meet it with all he had. The Doctor's sentences were short, his voice calm and determined.]
Chrome. I'm coming back to Violet.
Phoenix, you had better still be recuperating. If I come back and find out you're dead, I'm going to be very cross indeed.
As for the rest of you--especially you, yes you Dahlia--I don't give up. Don't know how.
This isn't over.

I'm a Time Lord. We tend to cheat death a bit, and I cheated it quite recently. Tends to give one the feeling of not being due for another flirt with the proverbial reaper for a while.

I'm a time traveler. Well, time-and-space-traveler, but that's not quite as catchy as 'time traveler'.

[Merlin thinks he can accept that. If there are crystals that allow someone to see the future, then why not objects that could allow people to actually travel to the future?]
