[The video is seen at an awkward angle at first, before the Sandshrew holding it managed to straighten it out. Today the view is that of a thoughtful Doctor with his Abra sitting on his lap. He's not looking at the camera, instead looking out the nearest window.]

The tenth's gone. [His words were short and strangely clipped compared to the animated rambling he usually greeted Johto with.] Just as well. Things tend to turn out wrong when there's more than one Doctor in one place.

...Jenny as well. I was looking forward to seeing her again--it's been a long time. Too long.

[He paused, took a breath and sighed...then turned to greet the camera with a smile, seemingly back to his usual self.]

Shame, that. But these things happen, don't they? People come and go as they please; there's a good chance our timelines will intersect again sooner or later. That's the thing about time travel, you see all sorts. The universe is a big place, bigger than most can imagine, but I do tend to find the important people when I need them. Or when they need me. Usually the latter.

[Adric jumped off his trainer's lap as the Doctor stood up, floating at his side.]

Now hold on there, Little Miss...whoever you are. I'm the Doctor. I'm a Time Lord. I have been traveling through all of time and space for longer than you might think, and I don't believe I have ever heard of a 'time plane' or 'time intervals'.

Well, time planes are sections of each time frame. Each one follows periodically, least until something or someone is added as extra, which would be us. Are you following?

Yes, except for the part where that's not how time works whatsoever.

Really, that's how it has been working for us.

That doesn't make sense. Sections and all that...time isn't as rigid as that sounds. Of course there are fixed points here and there, things that have to happen. But other than that, time is flexible. Changing, even.

When I was my tenth incarnation, I called it a ball. A wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey ball. The tenth wasn't the best with words, but it gets the point across.

Changes yes, but there are some that are inevitable.

I don't believe I've ever heard time described as you did. Which is strange. Even in parallel universes, the laws of time should be absolute.

Quite often, actually. The tenth was here in Johto until recently--back home I met the fifth before I regenerated, and I've had quite a lot of my prior incarnations in the same place at the same time.

It always gets a bit confusing, honestly.

Oh my, I know what you mean. I met my 'older self' once because of circumstances. I suppose I'll understand more later in the future.
