☄ 009; [video/action]

[Normal people might be staying inside in this weather. In fact, it would be wise of them to do so.]

[The Doctor, however, is neither normal nor 'people', strictly speaking. So one might find him just outside Violet today, catching every single Pidgey he happens to see. And doing so with a huge grin on his face.]

[His Abra, looking about as annoyed as an Abra possibly can, pokes his head into the frame as if to ask what in Arceus's name is going on.]

Are the aliens usually that, um, unfriendly?

[He can't believe he's having this conversation. But by now this is pretty low on the list of Weird Things He's Heard About in Johto.]

It's hardly as if everything not of Earth wants to kill you.

I certainly don't, for starters.

Oh. Right. I keep forgetting that you're not human.

Better than being called a Martian every five minutes. That gets on your nerves after a bit, I find.

And in fact, I've met quite a few races that were generally decent and peaceful. The problem is that there's quite a bit more that...well. Aren't.

But there aren't-- [Actually, he doesn't want to debate about life on Mars with an alien.]

So those aliens are giving the rest of the aliens a bad name. That's unfair.

There's plenty of life on Mars. Humans even colonize it in the future--around 2059, I think.

That's one way of looking at it, I suppose.

2059? That's not that far into the future.

[Forehead poke] To the rest of the universe, are humans one of the "bad" aliens or the "good" ones?

That's when it begins, at least. Bit of a rocky start.

...Well. That's not quite a simple question. Earth is a level 5 planet; relatively primitive and not quite part of galactic civilization at large. On the upside, Article 57 of the Shadow Proclamation prohibits it from being destroyed assuming you lot haven't broken any laws.

[A pause--he gave this some thought.]

Then again, that didn't stop the Daleks. Or the Cybermen, the Racnoss, the Master--

--...really, a lot of them seem to think you're food or easily accessed slave labor.

Oh, buck up. You're all perfectly intact despite everything.

Y-yeah. Hopefully it stays that way.

That's what I'm here for.

I still hope you can take this Christmas off. An alien invasion is the last thing Johto needs.
