How's My Driving

This is actually my first time playing Eleven, so any advice would be lovely--don't be a jackass, and if you're going to be a jackass at least make me laugh.
usedreturn: (the eleventh hour)
[Flap flap flap. Flapflapflapflapflap. All the video is currently picking up is a Woobat up close and personal, somewhere in the Goldenrod Pokemon Center. Said Woobat is currently flipping out because he keeps running into walls and doors and ceilings.]

Mickey, will you hold still--

[WHUMP.]

[And Doctors.]

[This is going to be a long day.]
usedreturn: (the big bang)
[The video turns on to a very, very smug Eleven, chuckling away about something or other.]

Right, right, another Christmas come and gone--going, really--with no sign of any catastrophe. No Sycorax, Sontarans, Slyther, Silurians? No Cybermen, Cyberleaders, Cyberkings, Cyber-we-need-to-think-of-better-names? Not even a single Dalek or even an Angel to be seen, which is really not any reassurance now that I think of it. Forget that bit, that bit's rubbish.

But. And this is the important bit, listen to this bit.

[He leaned in almost conspiratorially, grinning all the same as he did. In the background, an Abra was busy sticking his face into the bag of berries that came with the care package.]

It doesn't matter. Any of them could pop round for tea, not a problem. Because I have this.

[He held up a device only somewhat larger than a pen. It makes a sound at the touch of a button, lighting up vivid green at the end as it did.]

[What he does not realize is that this is all it can do now.]
usedreturn: (the beast below)

[A big blue box just materialized in front of you. Wherever you are. Doesn't matter where--you could be on top of the Radio Tower or in the middle of the Ice Path.]

[And when the door opens with a creak, the box's resident madman pokes his head out with a grin.]

Right, here we are--Raxacoricofallapatorius, lovely place for a vacation. Smells like cinnamon.

[Beat. An Abra floats out of the phone box as well, yawning before draping himself over his Trainer's shoulder.]

Wait, hang on. Hang on. Adric, do you smell cinnamon?

Aaaabra.

No, no, of course I know where I'm going! We're not lost!

Abra. Aaaab.

Now you're just being silly. And it's pronounced 'Raxacoricofallapatorius'. [The doctor takes out a device--and points it at various things--the end glows bright green as it makes a noise. It stops after a moment, Eleven examining it as though reading something.]

Oh, still here? Come on, now that's just boring. Well, no, traveling between words is hardly easy, but this place makes it look like tying shoelaces. Ever tied shoelaces, Adric? Always easy after the first time.

Abra.

Yes, I know you don't wear shoes.
usedreturn: (victory of the daleks)
[The Eleventh Doctor is, as many know, Not All There in a technical sense.]

[Not to say that any Doctor was ever all that sane. No, running around in ten-foot scarves offering candy is not an ordinary thing. Neither is wearing celery on one's jacket, or whatever in god's name Six was trying to do with his wardrobe.]

[But today? Today he is on a unicycle built from bicycle parts.]

[Not only that, but he's wearing a bike helmet apparently meant to look like a Wartortle shell, complete with fluffy tail.]

Hello there, Johto. [Wobble wobble wobble. He has no idea how to ride a unicycle past 'pedal' and 'don't fall over', and as a result there is an Ampharos holding the camera.]

So. As it goes, it seems I'm yet again the only Doctor in the region. Country. Planet? Not really sure which, when it comes to this. Could really use another me to work this out, might cause a paradox but the brilliant bits would most likely be worth it.

Also, he sent me his Sneasel. Which I am beginning to think was a hint that he didn't like me. Him. Us. ...One of us apparently doesn't like ourselves. It's very confusing sometimes. Not that I'm confused, I'm never confused.

[Wobble wobble.]

Where was I? Oh yes. Boredom. We all get it, don't we? Me, for example, I don't like staying in one place. Not for long, at least. If I was to stay in one place, I'd really quite rather do so with someone else.

[What he's getting at is that he can currently only afford about half a hotel room.]

So. I may be thinking about possibly going about Goldenrod--and, by extension, everywhere--with a friend or two.

[He may have been about to say something else. But the Sneasel-shaped blur flying into his head and the sound of someone falling off a unicycle out of frame kind of interrupted him.]

[Whoops.]
usedreturn: (flesh and stone)
[Today.]

[Today is important, Johto.]

[Because today is the day someone is no longer hopelessly lost in Johto. The video turns on in an almost Blair Witch-esque fashion, camera shaking and catching pretty much nothing but trees and ground. But it's steadied soon enough, the figure of a Kirlia caught just in the levitating frame.]

[WHUMP.]

[Out of the trees comes a very disheveled Doctor falling flat on his face. His already somewhat messy hair basically a mess of twigs and leaves. His bowtie is coming undone, suit slightly frayed around the edges, and he may or may not heave a Pidgey nest perched on his head.]

I think we may be making progress.

[If that sounded muffled, it's probably because he's still flat on his face. Donna the Kirlia prances over like she owns the place, camera shifting to reveal the Doctor has just faceplanted into the National Park outside of Goldenrod.]
usedreturn: (cold blood)
Right. Sudden comas, not all that new. Rather standard for Johto, although admittedly still strange for most standards of normality.

The vacant stares? Those are a bit new. But what's important, what's very, very important right now is that everyone stays as calm as possible. I'm sure there's people that've passed out in between towns and who-even-knows where else, so if you come across a case like that the best thing to do would likely be to get them to the nearest Center as quickly as possible.

I'm not sure they're going to actually help, but it is much better than being unconscious in the middle of nowhere.

[As the Doctor spoke, a particularly curious Shedinja seemed to be s l o w l y floating up behind him.]

First priority is to make sure everyone's safe, if not conscious. Then we can worry about what steps to take to solve this. Panicking over them isn't going to help.

[The Shedinja was barely a foot behind him--then a Kirlia and Abra proceeded to grab it and teleport offscreen. Of course, the Doctor was focused on what he was saying and absolutely none the wiser.]

...So. Stay calm, try to get everyone that's fallen unconscious somewhere safe, and stay calm. That's the important bit, the bit about not panicking all over the place. Ever seen a lot of people panic? Never solves anything.

[But looking behind you now and again might, Doctor.]

And if anyone sees someone named Rory running about, do let me know.
usedreturn: (the big bang)
[ooc:...also action for wherever eleven, rory, and amy are, i honestly dfk right now 8D;;]

So. The universe.

Big place. [He smiled, though it almost looked like more of a smirk.] Huge place, really--even I haven't seen all of it. I might never see all of it, I doubt anyone can see all the universe.

Especially not now that I've really thought about it. Ever do that, just sit there and think about things? I do, all the time. Only with less 'sit there' and more 'run around being brilliant'. But that's not the point, this is the point. We're all from different worlds, all different parallel worlds with their own...their own everything, really. It's like someone photocopied the universe and stuck it up all over the place.

But what does that mean? Where do all of them cross, that's what I'm stuck on. What makes Johto special, what makes it the one point where so many endless universes--possibly all of everything that has ever existed or will ever exist--overlaps?

That is something that doesn't make sense. So I'm going to poke it with a stick until it does.

[He went to shut off the video, but his Abra tugged on the fabric of his jacket to stop him. There was a point to this call, remember?]

Ah, right. Nearly forgot, thank you for that, Adric.

Has anyone heard of a planet called 'Alternia'?
usedreturn: (the big bang)
So. That last little round of eggs, how many of them hatched into something unusual? Something no one really sees around here? I'd say 'not native to Johto', but that could be a stretch. For all we know these strange little things are hiding all over the place.

Caaaarv~! <3

[With a splashing sound, a young Pokemon jumped from offscreen and landed with its mouth squarely on the Doctor's head. He seemed generally unconcerned, though staggered for a moment to keep his balance.

She's the one that hatched from mine. Called a Carvanha, apparently. Friendliest thing, as you can see. I've been calling her Sarah Jane.

[Meet the Carvanhat, Johto.]
usedreturn: (flesh and stone)
Right, again with the mysterious eggs from nowhere. I see how it is.

[The video shows the Azalea Pokemon Center and a still scratched-up Eleven on a couch with his Quagsire, Kirlia, and Sandslash.]

If 'see how it is' has taken on a new meaning and now means 'don't understand a thing.' Because that seems to be what I'm doing. First I get Donna--who incidentally seems to evolve into something that can create black holes and possibly destroy the planet--and now this one.

[Teleporting into thin air beside him is a possibly-sleeping Abra, an egg held securely in his arms.]

What's going to hatch from it--no, no, no, don't tell me, I don't want an answer. Rather I don't want an answer yet. Where's the fun in that, getting answers the second you hear the question? 'Guess what I like and just so you know it's fish custard'? Boring. Where's the suspense to it?

But. Well. Wouldn't want to wait too long. "Guess what I like and you have ten years to think about it before I come back and get your answer?" By the time he's back and waiting for you to say 'fish custard', it won't even matter because it's been ten years and where was I going with this?

Oh yes. Eggs.

So how long will this one take to hatch? Estimates? Assumptions? Wild guesses?
usedreturn: (amy's choice)
HELLOOOOOOOOOoooooo

Would you listen to that echo? What kind of well is this, it's enormous!

[Today on the network, the Doctor is running around the Slowpoke well like a fascinated kid. An Abra is clinging to his shoulder, while a Kirlia twirls and dances around her Trainer's feet looking just as excited as he does.]

Adric, Donna, look at this. [He crouches down, getting eye level with a Slowpoke lying on a rock.]

[...And stares.]

[And stares.]

[And stares.]

[This might go on a while.]
usedreturn: (the pandorica opens)
[The video is seen at an awkward angle at first, before the Sandshrew holding it managed to straighten it out. Today the view is that of a thoughtful Doctor with his Abra sitting on his lap. He's not looking at the camera, instead looking out the nearest window.]

The tenth's gone. [His words were short and strangely clipped compared to the animated rambling he usually greeted Johto with.] Just as well. Things tend to turn out wrong when there's more than one Doctor in one place.

...Jenny as well. I was looking forward to seeing her again--it's been a long time. Too long.

[He paused, took a breath and sighed...then turned to greet the camera with a smile, seemingly back to his usual self.]

Shame, that. But these things happen, don't they? People come and go as they please; there's a good chance our timelines will intersect again sooner or later. That's the thing about time travel, you see all sorts. The universe is a big place, bigger than most can imagine, but I do tend to find the important people when I need them. Or when they need me. Usually the latter.

[Adric jumped off his trainer's lap as the Doctor stood up, floating at his side.]

Chrome? I think I should be moving on soon. Stayed in one place too long, not quite my thing.
usedreturn: (victory of the daleks)
Aaaaabra.

[The video is in the hands of Adric as usual, floating a few feet off the ground. The Doctor is quite disheveled, not that anyone can really see that where his head's under a pillow.]

Ralll... [That slightly whining voice comes from Donna the Ralts, sitting on the pile of blankets and pillows that is currently the Doctor. She tilts her head, apparently wondering why Adric is filming--]

[--and then there would be a sudden movement that ends with both Pokemon and trainer falling off the bed and out of sight with a thud.]

Ral-?!

[There was mostly silence for a minute or two, during which Donna pulls herself back up onto the bed with some effort; then a Doctor in apparent disarray pops up in full suit and bowtie, dusting himself off.]

Right, sorry about that. Took a bit of a nap, it seems--adventures to be had, worlds to be saved, things needing blowing up--what've I missed?
usedreturn: (victory of the daleks)
It's been quiet. Suspiciously so, even. Well, I say 'quiet', but of course it's not quiet. Quite lovely today, isn't it? Well either way, I do hope everyone liked the presents--assuming they arrived on time.

Also, I have a question.

[His Abra floated onscreen, an egg in his arms.]

Did someone lose an egg?

[The Doctor gave the Pokegear a puzzled expression--looking carefully, one might see the mistletoe caught in his hair that he of course didn't seem to notice.]

[Action for anyone in the Violet Pokemon Center; have at him, but you'll get a lot of wtf in return.]
usedreturn: (amy's choice)
[Normal people might be staying inside in this weather. In fact, it would be wise of them to do so.]

[The Doctor, however, is neither normal nor 'people', strictly speaking. So one might find him just outside Violet today, catching every single Pidgey he happens to see. And doing so with a huge grin on his face.]

[His Abra, looking about as annoyed as an Abra possibly can, pokes his head into the frame as if to ask what in Arceus's name is going on.]
usedreturn: (vampires of venice)
Hello there.

[The Doctor is looking particularly smug today. But seeing as he is currently flanked by two massive Pokemon, that is not at all unjustified.]

Look what I found~ [He raised his hand, in it a peculiar device.]

So. Does anyone know just where my two new friends came from?

[He's gone from traveling through time and space to LITERALLY CONTROLLING IT.]

[Johto best watch its ass.]
usedreturn: (amy's choice)
[Some of you may be in Violet City this fine morning.]

[And many more of you may see a video feed of a certain ecstatic Doctor apparently quite high off the ground.]

[And while those watching the video will only hear the ridiculously loud sounds of some kind of rocks moving along the ground, those in Violet will clearly see the Doctor blasting into Violet on the head of a goddamn Onix.]

GERONIMOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

[And while the video (presumably held by his Abra) shows a grinning Doctor with a Sandshrew clinging for dear life to his shoulder, it's not until he's in Violet and on the ground that he addresses the camera itself.]

Chrome, I'm back. Did I miss anything?

You with the boring suit, Phoenix. Recovering?

And you, you know who you are, the tenth one. Where are you?
usedreturn: (the time of angels)
[The Pokegear clatters to the ground along with the rest of the Doctor's equipment--he runs forward a few steps, appearing onscreen at an odd angle given where the camera's lying. The background is dark and rocky--Union Cave, perhaps?]

No, nonono she can't have gotten away, the worst ones always get away, not this time--

[Out of breath from all that running (human bodies were so unreliable, what with one heart and all) the suit-wearing Doctor leaned on a rocky wall with an expression that, while hard to see in the darkness, was unmistakably Not Pleased. And when the Doctor is Not Pleased, things tend to get a bit messy.]

...She won't get away. Not from me, not for long. They always come back, and I always win in the end. The Master, the Daleks, the Cybermen, I can handle all that. One human won't be any trouble once I find her.

[There was an odd air of determination to the Doctor as he straightened up, dusted off his suit (which, incidentally, was covered in dust, dirt, and grass stains; he's not had an easy few days) and strode right over to his Pokegear to pick it up. He was smiling by this point--the smile of a man who enjoyed a challenge and was going to meet it with all he had. The Doctor's sentences were short, his voice calm and determined.]

Chrome. I'm coming back to Violet.

Phoenix, you had better still be recuperating. If I come back and find out you're dead, I'm going to be very cross indeed.

As for the rest of you--especially you, yes you Dahlia--I don't give up. Don't know how.

This isn't over.
usedreturn: (the hungry earth)
Hello there, Johto. How are you all doing?

[He wears a smile, calm and cheerful. But beneath that oh-so-thin layer of calm friendliness, there was a strange spark to his eyes, a smoldering flame ignited within by some unknown catalyst. Emotion invoked by something he could not, would not stand for.]

[This one Doctor--who had seen the death of civilizations and the end of the universe, witnessed the genocide of the Daleks and rewritten the decimation of the human race...this man whose true name existed only in the stars of the Medusa Cascade--was angry.]

I'm looking for a lovely young woman called Dahlia.

[And the fury of a Time Lord was not to be taken lightly.]

Video to Chrome added later:

Chrome, I'm sorry, but I have to go. There's something I need to take care of. If I manage it, I'll see you a bit further on down the road. If I don't...well, I'll deal with that when it happens.
